About 6 weeks ago I had a call from a mother whose son had just been diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. She had done some research on the internet and saw that the Bowen Technique was helpful for this condition. “Henry” is only 2 years old, but until now he has not been able to climb, especially on the couches at home. He would wriggle on his chest to get up. He would fall over a lot. He couldn’t really run and he also had a little wiggle when he walked because his ankles turned in. He looks fine, though, and he is a very intelligent little boy. After only one Bowen treatment, which I had to do with him running around, his mother noticed that he wasn’t falling over as much and that he was able to lift his legs higher than usual. After the second treatment, he was climbing on the furniture, running around, climbing onto the shelves in the supermarket and hardly ever falling over at all! He was now standing still and letting me do the work on him. He has now had five treatments, and is doing incredibly well. His muscles are relaxed. He can do karate kicks now with his brothers and sisters. He can touch his nose with his toes and one of his ankles has straightened out. He is sleeping much better as welll. His mother noted that he hardly ever falls over now, and that the changes in him have been remarkable. He still has regular visits from a physiotherapist who has decided that he is doing so well that she has not need to do any more work on him, but gave him special boots to help support his ankles.
